When to no breed Empty When to no breed

I was trying to get more black tans, so I put dad with a daughter. She had a litter of maybe 6 but then didn't nurse them and I didn't have another doe to foster so I lost all of them. She is the best looking one of the 5 I have and would really like to try again but not sure if I should. Someone had suggested I put two does in with dad and see how that went. That if anything I would hopefully get some out of it, but I don't want to get too many mice at once.

So advice would be appreciated :-)

I would try one more time. Sometimes mommas don't get it the first time. Put in both daughters and just heavily cull if you are up to it. Otherwise just try the one again. Good luck

I would try again with her as well....abandonment is likely the doe not feeling well, or just her instincts not kicking in, and is more forgiveable than if she culls her litter.

Should she wait a certain period till breeding again? I ask this ? Because I had the same situation. I was going to wait 3 months. What is the recommended time?

Breed another litter at the same time so you'll have a foster mother ready.

It's been a good 3 months for me already and I plan to do it in April. So by then it would be 5 months.
