Hey helpful knowledgeable mouse people!

I have a mouse called Marty. He's approx 1 year old.
In the last 48 hours he's been having some funny turns

Late Friday night he was sitting perfectly still, panting,
He's not one to sit quietly in my hand. So when he sat perfectly still for nearly an hour it became worrying
I did notice he also didn't poo during this time (usually he poos all over me when I hold him)
After about an hour he shuddered, did a poo. Started walking around and went almost completely back to normal. Very relieving.

I woke up and celebrated his health by cleaning his cage and getting some milk bones (I read these are good for mice)
Unfortunately that next night at the exact same time he did the same thing. I noticed at this time his eye was half closed and looked sore

Tonight I was prepared with suggestions from google about rubbing his belly to help him poo. His favorite blanket.
I cleaned his eye with saline solution.

He wasn't as bad tonight but still spent about 30 minutes really quiet not doing anything.

Does this sound familiar to any one?

He's approx 1 year old.
Has always lived by himself in his cage. Has never had any other interaction with other mice or animals.
He eats a lot grains and seeds and mouse mix.
He has a wooden tube he loves to play with and on. Has a big wheel. He's never been big on quiet cuddles, but in last 48 hours has spent nearly 10 hours sitting in my hand

Any suggestions I welcome

Thanks

The sweet and handsome Punkin sometimes had this problem, though more seriously. Intestinal obstruction or something. Feed him a drop or two of olive oil to grease his little guts. You might do this daily for a while. Make sure his water bottle works. Feed Him Rice! Rubbing his little belly is also a very good thing. Good luck!

I've got him to lick the oil of fingers. Not too sure how much is too much. He started pooing within about 45 minutes or so.

Any suggestions on best way to get him to take the oil?

You can smear some oil on his fur and he will lick it off when he grooms himself. Easy!
