My silent spinner wheel is squeaking, what oil to use to fix it?

Post by Mouse-Lover#17 on Tue May 14, 2013 2:42 pm

Since I wash the wheel everyday all the oil (I think) has rubbed off, because last night the wheel was squeaking so bad I could barely sleep, and I feel sorry for the poor mouses ears! Anyway I was reading that you can oil it with Vegetable oil but I refuse to buy Vegetable oil for health reasons so is there any other oil that I could use? Like Olive oil or Butter or something?

You can use olive oil, yes, but Vaseline petroleum jelly is even better because it's thicker and stays on longer. It is absolutely safe for mice. The inventor/discoverer of petroleum jelly used to eat a tablespoon of it every morning with his breakfast!
