Greetings!

Post by Rhasputin on Sun Jan 15, 2012 3:05 pm

Hi, my name is Casey.

I've been breeding mice for a few years now. My main focus is Fuzzy, fuzzy hairless, and hairless. I'm hoping to also work with Rhino hairless in the near future.
I also work with African Soft Furred Rats in almost every variety. I make it my mission to breed them towards tameness, and body and colour quality.

Other species I work with are Spiny mice, Pygmy mice, Deer mice, 6-spot roaches, and halloween hissing cockroaches.

I am co-founder of the UMC and this forum, and also a forum moderator. Happy
I am currently the only judge for the UMC, but hope to better my skills and train others to be judges all across the country.

I give mine a tiny cup full of parakeet pellets all the time, and every once in a while throw in some vegetable or fruit scraps. Happy

Yay! Thanks!
They're really pretty right after they shed. The black areas turn dark orange, and the light areas are yellow. They're really nice. Happy

Hi,
I posted but I guess you didn't see my question lol. Will you ever have deer mice for adoption, I know they are more for viewing than handling, we have been searching for them for a long time?!
Thank you
Happy

Thank you Rhasputin!
Do you handle yours at all? Do you know anyone else that has them? Your the first person I've seen in the states that has them! I'm wondering how the pymies are doing too? We had such issues with them killing their litters.

Re: Greetings!

They haven't been killing their litters, but i did have a massive escape recently, and am back down to 3. I have found another breeder who nearly never sells live, but has agreed to trade me some females and males if I trade him the ones I have, so he can add new blood to his stock. Happy

I handle the deer mice only when i need to. They really prefer to be left alone. As far as I know I'm the only person with active plans to breed them, in the US. Unfortunately the person I got them from sold the rest of the females to someone else, and I only have 1 female, who isn't breeding, and two males.

Hmph.
