Argente anyone?
Ok- I know you can get a variety by breeding two different ones together. Example- agouti and chocolate : cinnamon. Is there a way one could make argente this way?
Re: Argente anyone?
I thought Argente was a pink-eyed Agouti?

It is agouti + p/p, I think maybe we're misunderstanding her question, though.

Nope-I just worded it stupidly!! You guys answered my question! I did not know argente was just a pe agouti. I am still learning genetics. Breeding for as long as I have and still not good at the whole genetics codeing and stuff. Lol. So sad.
Re: Argente anyone?
My question! What would PE cinnamon look like vs regular argente? Would it still have the blue cast that argente has, or would it be a warmer yellow?
For some reason I thought of that when we were talking a while back about fawn and gold mice. Even though I guess it would be pointless to breed them because you'd still see the ticking and they couldn't be shown as fawns.

Re: Argente anyone?
A/- b/b p/p would be cinnamon argente. They look pale when compared to their warm argente counterparts.
Here's a photo I have comparing argente ASFs and cinnamon argente ASFs. It's a similar thing (I just don't have a comparison photo of cinnamon and cinnamon argente mice).
The argente is in the back, and the cinnamon argente (molting. . . ) is in the front.

Re: Argente anyone?
Good question Zia! And thanks Casey.
Question though- I thought d/d was blue? So wouldn't
A/- d/d p/p be a silver argente?
I love those asf by the way!

Re: Argente anyone?
Whoops, you're right I put d/d instead of b/b
But yes there's also such a thing as a silver argente, I'll try to track a picture down for you.

Well that is just eww. I guess it makes sense though cause A/* b/b still does have dark ticking to their hair... just less of it.
I'll stick to regular argente!
