My long awaited fawn litter

Post by moustress on Thu Feb 23, 2012 3:52 pm

This litter is the culmination of a year plus of intensive breeding in order to restore the line of fawns that were all lost in the accident 14 mo. ago.

They are about nine days old in these pix.

Thank you all so much!

The little self in my hand in a buck that I hope will be a stud for future fawn and fawn tricolor litters in the future. He's gonna be a beauty when he grows up.

Thanks, everyone, for your kind comments.

Yes, this is a litter of some importance to me, and I dote on them very heavily. We'll see how they live up to their forebearer as far as stature and body shape go. My concern is to have another couple of fawn does so I can be secure in having stock to breed from in the future.

As only one of these is a doe, I am a little frustrated. Once she's gotten to breedable age I'll feel a lot better. I am waiting on Lordy Lordy and Damsel (my only other fawn doe) to show results from their pairing. Dainty will be paired with Putz again after these guys are weaned and she's had some weeks to rest up ,as this litter show they make good babies together.
