PEW and black

Hi! I would really like to know what you guys think of these bucks. They are my 2 favorite I didn't breed them myself.

Rex PEW



Unfortunately he has a very bad coat, but he was the best I could find with a reasonable type.

Black


I like his broad and short head and he is build the way I want my future mice to look like

The black one has a very nice head, much better than the white one. The white one has better ears though they're not well placed. Neither has a very good tail, but both seem to have good size.

The black one has good pigment, but needs more inside the ears, and between his toes a little.

Thanks! I was wondering about their tails, here in Belgium and the Netherlands they don't seem to pay any attention to that. I haven't entered in a show yet, but from what I've seen, it doesn't seem to count for much.
I knew about the pigment on the toes, but not about in the ears, very helpful!

The Black seems to have a better tail. He has the start of a tail set and a thicker tail than the PEW Rex does. I don't know what it is about Rex that seems to repel all attempts to improve tail set. I've been working on it for 2 years. Often times, in a mixed litter of Rex and standard coats, the Rex inevitably have poorer type than their standard siblings. It just seems to take longer with them! Hehe.
