Holy wow. :O That's ingenious. And I do love the smell of coffee. I'll see if I can do that. Big smile

All these great ideas Happy I have been using a holmes air purifier, it works really good, was only 40 bucks from walmart. I'm going to start putting vanilla in the males we are keeping as pets, water bottles and I just ordered organic dried lavander, the reviews say it smells wonderful, I plan on sprinkling a little in their cages. Also I use parmesan shakers w natural cinnamon sticks, or the lavander to freshen the room. I was told the coffee gets moldy from someone in the past so I never tried that, is that true? Do all starbucks give out the coffeee grounds for free? I never heard of that!

I would imagine the grounds need to be dried first

Not necessarily. They work fresh or used, wet or dry. If you get them from Starbucks, they're wet. You don't have to dry them before you set them out. You can set them out and they'll dry and start working at the same time.

I just meant, to prevent molding it might be a good idea to dry them. Happy

Oh, yeah! That makes sense. To use them you want the greatest surface area exposed, so I spread them out in a plastic container, just the way I would to dry them, and when they're fresh and damp I stir them every day. There's no special process to go through.

Hmmm! I should try that for the couple of boys that live upstairs with us rather than the mouse room. We love the smell of coffee! And I happen to have a half used bag of good coffee that nobody at work wanted anymore to dispose of! *writes note to put a coffee filled container in the family room under the boys*

I just made some little sachets for the grounds when dry. Going to see how they work!

Um, I was told you could put coffee grounds in a sock and put it under your car seat to clean the air in your car, and I tried it but it wasn't very effective, compared to how well they worked in Mouseville. I think the coffee grounds really need to be directly exposed to the air.

I didn't use fabric. It's those almost gauzey little see through gift bags. I don't know how to explain them. LOL. I've seen people put potpourrie in them too. You can see right through them. The finer coffee dust actually falls out of them, but I poured enough coffee into the bag so that when it's on its side the full dimension of the bag has the coffee in it, exposed. I put the bag in a tray under the mouse cart in the family room. I was trying to be proactive in preventing mouse daddy from spilling coffee all over the carpet! Laughing

Never heard of this kind of material! Should work! Preventing spilling coffee grounds is always a good thing! I've cleaned up enough of them in the past two years.

Ok, I checked at home and the "material" is called organza. Haha. I recycle everything! The bags from jewelry included!
