CPNH, displaying my critters!
I sent mister Richard Pell a few culls from my mousery upon request for him to use in his new museum display and it went off without a hitch! I worked on the animals, as well as a friend of mine who freeze dried them. I supplied the rat in the photo, 2 black mice (one tremendously obese, and one normal for comparison), and a hairless mouse that was preserved in alcohol.
Pretty cool if you want to check out the article!

I like this:
“There’s a very interesting cultural history of the US as told by dead rodents,” he explains. “It’s not just the science or biology behind them, but the whole story of people, desires, fears that drive [us] to change a living thing. Whether it’s someone who breeds songbirds or the utilitarian aims of someone who engineers a food product, those narratives are complicated.” So he decided to tell their story.
Oooo! Look at this:
And if you’ve ever fancied paging through a yearly almanac of mouse mutations, the Center for PostNatural History’s got you covered from 1954 to 1990.
Rhasputin, have you seen this almanac?

Ann I haven't seen the almanac, I'm speaking with the director now about trying to get a digital copy of it!

A digital copy of that almanac! Wow! Maybe you could upload it to this web site so we could all see.
Re: CPNH, displaying my critters!
Yes. I'm really hoping I can get a hold of it. If I can't get a digital copy, perhaps I can get the book on loan, the owner is very friendly, perhaps he'd be interested in a discount on his next taxidermy piece!

Here here!
Re: CPNH, displaying my critters!
Thank you kindly!
I am waiting on a digital sample of the almanac now, and if we decide it is beneficial, then they are going to allow someone to take on the project to digitize the whole book!
I'll post the scans when i receive them.

Are there pictures of your mice, I only see the rat photo, are you suppose to click on another link? That is really neat though!
Re: CPNH, displaying my critters!
They only posted a photo of the rat in the article, but I'll ask for the mouse photos. I'd love to see them too
