Bullying from the same mouse
I know with new mice there is to be bickering. How long will this go on? It seems a nightly occurrence that the one chases, bites and bullies the same mouse. I don't see blood, but I don't want her to do the nightly for the next possibly 2 years of their lives. Is there something that can be done, or something I can try?

I let it go for a few days, then I tried need girls to be around and they got along better. I figured mice are like us, some they like some they don't LOL. And I would check the mouse out good. I didn't see blood when my boys were still young and together but one of them had scabs all over his bottom.

It is normall for maybe 2 days, 3 max. Usually after that first day they are fine.
If fighting is still going on I would try a few different things.
1. clean the cage all toys throughly and rearragne the cage. That way territories are broken and cannot be restablished so easy. Your mouse may be territorial or protective of a certain mouse house, toy, ect.
2. Remove all toys after a through cage clean and replace with new ones. Sometimes it is good to switch up toys with mice who are territorial. That way before they feel the need to protect their "hut" you would have already taken it out and replaced with something else.
3, If all else fails take the aggressor out for about 3-4 days and then reintroduce her after a through cage cleaning. She will be the newbie in the cage and her fighting will be less likely.
4. Some people , including myself, have used vanilla extract. It is well know in the rat community to introduce boys into a colony. Just place some vanilla on their runmps. That way everyone will smell the same and no one will have a need to fight! I ahve been suessful using this method with some bucks. I works sometimes and not on others. Worth a try though

Thank you very much!! I will try those methods. It's been going on non stop for 2 weeks. They sleep together, play together, then come about 9 pm to 3 she goes in to psycho mode and bites.

ouch........ so sorry to hear that! She is definately stressing your other little one out. Try those methods and let me know what happens. I think it is definately a territorial thing.
Re: Bullying from the same mouse
NB: The vanilla extract only works for new introductions, like after taking her out for four days and then putting her back in. Just putting vanilla on their rumps won't do much to calm the fighting.
It's so weird that it only happens at a certain time at night though. Is it when they wake up? At feeding time? Does anything else happen around that time that might be triggering it? Anything at all, like a fan coming on or anything different?

I had this happen too. Always at night- they had "mosey fight club" all night. Lots of sqeaks and unnecessary noise. I eventually separated them because it turned out one was pregnant. Tried to reintroduce and they hate each other. :\
Re: Bullying from the same mouse
No. Nothing changes. She even has started as soon as Ariel gets up. She will go in where Ariel is sleeping and attack her and procede to chase her all over. It got pretty bad last night so I put her in the travel cage until Paul is finished with the new tote today. She will stay in a cage all her own for a few days. If not, is letting Pam take her and intro her to her mice an option? Maybe she will like them better? The other 2 girls I have are very passive. She is overly aggressive but just to little Ariel.
