Hi from WV!
My name is Stacey and I live with my boyfriend, our 5 cats, 1 parrotlet and 4 girly meecers.
We live in West Virginia, on the Ohio border and would love to find a breeder or rescue near me
I got my girls from a woman that got pregnant mice from a petstore. I have a self RY, a broken RY, a broken brindle and a black self
I had 2 other girls and a litter that recently passed, one from an accident (she got trapped under a log hide) and I took in a very young pregnant female. She had a prolapsed rectum after giving birth, I had to have her and her litter euthanized (the pups were only a week old, but were failing to thrive) The vet also discoved that Momma had a tumor in her chest. It's been a rough couple of weeks for me
Here's my current girls <3

Re: Hi from WV!
Sunny looks argente to me.
Which is pretty much a ticked fawn.
Your mice are very lovely! They look very healthy.

Re: Hi from WV!
Welcome! I'd love to hear more about your parrotlet! I'm considering adding one to my home but I don't know a terrible amount about them.
Your mouse babies are very sweet! I'm especially partial to the pied RY.

Re: Hi from WV!
Thanks all! I thought Sunny was a dark RY, but wasn't 100% sure (since she has unknown genes) I was going by pictures of other RY's. She could probably be fawn I never thought about her being argente, I'll have to check to see if she's ticked like an agouti.
Zia, my Elvis is the MEANEST little bird ever, but I love his personality LOL. He is cage aggressive (they have a tendency to be cage aggressive) I don't handle him much because he doesn't not like it at all (his breeder didn't handle him enough as a baby, so he came to me very shy) He's a great little bird to watch, he loves to sing and hang upside down from his toys and cage. He loves my cats and will get down at the bottom of his cage to watch them (I never let them together) He's very easy to care for, I have a large flight cage with tons of toys. He has a big character in a tiny little body! He also likes to talk to me by screeching at the top of his lungs. Males can learn to talk too, but so far Elvis just likes to sing and screech.
Elvis - he's an American White (Dilute Blue)

To see if she's argente, brush her fur backwards, and see if she has a gray or blue coloured undercoat.

Re: Hi from WV!
Thanks for all the welcomes. I am really enjoying this forum.
For anyone curious, Sunny is not argente, so I think she is fawn
She was very unhappy with me brushing her fur backwards to check!!

Re: Hi from WV!
Welcome to the forum. We have alot of fun here. I have a blue parrolet, Jake. He was taken in a drug bust with about 15 other parrolets. Jake is a good bad boy. He lets me lets him more now than 3 years ago. That is because I have to cockatiels and they love to be out on their perches and handled. His a a squaker when I come in the room. I must pay attention to him first or he will have a hissy fit. LOL Again, welcome to the forum. Robin
