The Dogs! Empty The Dogs!

I have three dogs (and two cats) in addition to mice. All three of them are rescues. Forgive me if this is a long post. I can talk dogs forever:

Pete:

Pete is a Xoloitzcuintli. He came from a hoarder in New Hampshire. I ended up with him by chance and he was a foster dog who just never left.

Maizee:

Maizee came to me from a rescue in New York called Glen Highland Farm. It is an amazing place- 125 acres of farm land that has been set up entirely for rescuing Border Collies. Maizee was my first Border Collie. She is now about seven years old. She came from a pretty rough background too- she's was hit by a car twice (she's a bad car chaser) in her old home and now has a pin holding her hip together. But she's doing pretty well all things considered!

Pilot:

Pilot came to me from Georgia. I was looking for a puppy at the time but saw him listed at a shelter. He had days left before being euthanized and the shelter determined that he was "unadoptable" because he was so scared in the shelter setting. He is the perfect dog for me and the love of my life. Big smile He was transported to Connecticut via Pilots N Paws (hence his name), a great organization that utilizes volunteer pilots to transport rescue dogs across the country.

Gorgeous pups! I love little Pete. I would LOVE a Xolo some day. They are one of my top favorite dogs with Yorkies and Boxers. Interesting combo, huh? I actually named my true hairless stud-mouse Xolo!

Very pretty dogs! I'm a fan of herding breeds (having a GSD myself!). Happy

Your Xolo is too cute! He looks like a sweetie.

And your border collies are GORGEOUS! And they even get to herd! I love seeing dogs doing what they were born to do.

Thank you guys Happy I am a Border Collie nut. If it were up to me, I would be breeding, but alas don't have the space or money required.

Zia, they don't get to herd all the time and my red boy doesn't really understand what sheep are for, but when they do Maizee is absolutely amazing. She has very minimal herding training and her instinct is quite strong. I too love seeing dogs getting to do what they were bred to do Happy
