Extra Fat?
My Brindle satin girl is seemingly extra fat. She is in a tank with all girls. I double checked them all. Is this common with them? The rest are all normal sized, but she seems fat. I was at first concerned she somehow had gotten pregnant, but that isnt possible. Sorry I had been MIA, life has been busy

Yeah! Certain Brindle genes are prone to obesity. Mrs Beach is working on non obese Brindles. From my experience the brindles tend to be extra calm and friendly I guess from being lazy lol nah idk he he
Re: Extra Fat?
Yup! Brindle mice are prone to obesity. There are a few genes that for some reason have obesity "stuck" to them.

Ok good. I'm still going to keep an eye on her but I'm happy she may just be a chunky lady.

Yeah, I don';t know why I'm working on non=obese brindles when the obese ones are so snuggly and affectionate. Something about longevity, health, and the ability to stay thin enough to breed after four months of age! I have three different brindle lines, and one of them is obese!
Re: Extra Fat?
I have some satin brindles that are pudgy little things too. They're hands down always the sweetest mice I have, but they're a pain in the butt to get pregnant.
