RF Mouse Identification?
Rodent Fest yesterday was heaps of fun and through all the excitement of buying mice left and right (between Julee and I, we left with 37 mice, 2 ASFs, and 2 Spiny Mice) I completely blanked on what these particular mice are (and never actually found out for some of them).
A huge thank you to all the breeders who were so generous with sharing their lines. I am very excited to start my breeding program!
I don't remember who we got him from (I'm sorry!), but this is a little brindle buck with a nubby tail that we've been calling "Nubs". I know he is brindle- and heavily marked at that. But is he also tan? (Is there brindle tan?). To the breeder, who I know is on the forums here, your mouse is WELL loved. Definitely one of my favorite from yesterday
I think I got this one from Beth. The best I can come up with is Angora Siamese Fox.
This girl has a blaze on her nose and a bit of white on one of her legs. Is she possibly a really badly marked dutch or just a marked black?
I don't even have an educated guess. Angora something? High white
I know I got this one from Cindy. Cindy, I completely forgot what you told me she is! But thank you for all of the gorgeous mice

LOL, it was a very overwhelming day , the doe is a chocolate splashed satin texel, she's either beige colorpoint or ivory based, I'm leaning toward beige colorpoint though. The sire is black splashed himi satin angora, the dame is choc satin texel.

Re: RF Mouse Identification?
the first one is satin brindle...I don't think tan...though tan is possible (it would be A^vy/a^t).
second is angora splashed fox...does look like it's siamese for the c-dilutes though
third is just a pied black...its basically hereford markings, but not the same genetically as "true" herefords. ...might be a poor rex?...
Fourth is high white piebald...some sort of c-dilute??...angora....hard to judge the actual color with so little of it...
and the last one is a satin texel....looks like a splashed....the satin makes it hard to tell what c-dilutes from my end though.

Re: RF Mouse Identification?
Thank you Cindy and Stina! That definitely clears that up. Last night everyone I was with was completely puzzled over that last one.
Would there be a way to get chocolates out of the chocolate splash? Or even create more chocolate splash? I'm still learning so much about these genes. I apologize for all of the silly questions and very much appreciate your answers!

Re: RF Mouse Identification?
If you bred the chocolate splashed to a chocolate buck, or a buck carrying chocolate, you would get chocolate...if you bred her to a c-diluted buck, or a buck carrying c-dilutes, you would get splashed, more chocolate splashed would require a buck being or carrying both. Chocolate is recessive, c-dilutes are recessive...splashed is dominant though, so you would not need a splashed buck to get more splashes

Re: RF Mouse Identification?
The second one looks to be one of the babies Beth got from me. She's a Black Splash Siamese Fox Angora.
Here's her pedigree: http://www.mouserydatabase.com/mousery.cfm?mousery=902&mouse=20675&view=pedigree
