What killed this mouse?
I came into my room last night to find that one of the mice I have has died. I have absolutely no idea what happened- he was young, from a pet store (I bought him over a month ago), and seemingly healthy up until last night. I saw absolutely no sign of illness other than the fact that he looked slightly too thin. I figured the fact that I had just switched from a mix of food to lab blocks would explain the weight difference.
He was crammed up between his food bowl and the edge of the cage when I found him. The food bowl was quite full and is a small ceramic bowl- is it possible he got stuck? Would weight loss be an indicator that he was sick, even if he was not sneezing? He has not been near any of my other mice, thankfully, so if he was sick it shouldn't spread. But I've still been watching them just to be certain.
Any ideas?

Check his teeth for malocclusion (overgrowth)

Yes, bad teeth preventing eating might explain his thinness. Mice can also die suddenly from all sorts of things that had no symptoms. Heart attack, stroke, genetic problems with vital organs, etc. It is sad, but it happens. One doesn't always find out the cause. And pet shop mice often have many genetic health problems. Eliminating them is part of what breeders do with their lines. That is one huge difference between a breeder mouse and a pet store mouse.
