Blue fox c^ch/c^h s/s buck AVAILABLE for RF!

Post by Mrs. Beach on Mon Apr 23, 2012 5:18 pm

This guy has not been claimed by adopters or anyone on the wait list. He could also hide Spl which will come out more when he is older. His s/s is just a tiny part of his tail tip. There is a slight chance of tumors from his background. He is the son of Walrus Girl x Blox.

Ann is this the one you messaged me about? I think Elena wants a blue fox, but I don't know if she wants a diluted blue fox.

Rhasputin, yes, this is the one I messaged you about. Tell Elena that there is no such thing as a non-diluted blue fox. Blue mice with a^t are blue tans. The tan gene is turned white by the c-dilutes. This mouse is one c^ch away from being a blue fox. If you bred this mouse to a female descendant of Blox you'd get some c^ch/c^ch blue foxes. They'd be the same color Blox is. You want him? I don't think his a^t is very strong.

I was under the impression that blue fox was possible, just like how black fox is possible?

Traditional blue fox would be cch/cch, but this one is cch/ch. The cch does not dilute the blue much at all, but ch does, hence the partial dilution of this blue fox. Technically, both cch and ch are dilutions, but the former mostly changes yellow coloring, while the latter dilutes any coloring. So, basically, you're both right, but in different ways.

Rhasputin, if blue tan is a^t/a d/d, then what would blue fox be? It's a^t/a c^ch/c^ch (the darkest dilution) d/d. See? My buck is an honorary blue fox since he has only one c^ch. He's really a blue Burmese fox. I spologize for my inaccuracy.

I just thought that when you said blue fox, it was a blue mouse, with a white belly, Ann. tongue

Yeah, that's what one would think. The c^ch/c^ch makes it practically a blue mouse with a white belly.

Yes! The mouse in your pix is my breeding goal!

I crossed
a^t/a c^ch/c^h d/d
to
a^t/a c^ch/c^ch d/d
to get more
a^t/a c^ch/c^ch d/d.

I also got some a^t/a c^ch/c^h d/d, of which this buck is the last unadopted nameless bastard. Lots of people wanted bubs from this litter so most were adopted before they were born.

Unfortunately, one of the two a^t/a c^ch/c^ch d/d (real blue fox) is rex. A girl. Spitting image of Blox. I've named her Rexina. The boy, who is standard, is Tuxton, because he looks like he's wearing a little tuxedo, though his belly is not a good white. Rexina's is strong, though, and my only other choice of buck was the smallest of the litter, and his white wasn't much whiter. So I'm hoping for some better real blue foxes in the next generation. I'll also be crossing Tuxton in to my Super Line (Honeysuckle and Chrysalis) of extreme dilute brindle tris to darken them. Tuxton's grandmother is Supergirl.

I think blue foxes are extremely handsome. Thank you for posting that pic of yours!

Nope! I offered him to you and Casey both in email and at this post and got no response. In the meantime, someone claimed him. Elena, there will be another litter in about three months, of all c^ch/c^ch d/d babies, some of them a^t/a, some of them rex. Are you interested in any?

So sorry for the communication mishap, Elena! If I'd known you were looking for this kind of mouse, I definitely would have phoned or emailed you. I will put you down on the waiting list for one of Rexina x Tuxton's future bubs. Buck, right? You want c^ch/c^ch or c^ch/c^h? Gotta wait about two months before breeding them!

You know, Casey has their father, CSB Blox, who is rather old but just recently impregnated Walrus Girl. Magnificent type, good color, good fox. You could breed your own from him. Blox lives with his companion ASF. They were so attached to one another that when Casey came to get him I gave her his ASF, too. They are inseparable! A very loving couple!
