Free Mouse Cage!
Today i went shopping with my friends and we went to look in a pet store. They had these cool cages at the front desk and i thought about buying one, When i asked how much they were, they said it was free! Because they were switching to tanks for the mice that were on sale. So, i scored myself a $60 mouse cage for free! There were 3 cages and i chose the best one! Haha

That is super! I used to have one like that for my dwarf hamster.

I have one. My hamster loves it. He doesn't chew. My girl does chew, and would have chewed through it. You got a great deal.

That reminds me that I should get the two that I have like that and bring them to the show. They were $40 a piece and the cats dumped them over in the first day so I tossed them in a box and put them in storage.

Can't beat free!
Just make sure you only keep nice big mice in there though....I've heard many stories of escapees from this type of cage.

Um, yeah! I just had a similar experience last night! My 5 week old Fuzzy Hairless bucks can squeeze through the Allentown lab cages I have! They are about the same width as the cage shown here. I caught one on top of his mother and sisters cage next to his, trying to get back in. I put the little bugger back in the lab cage for a second while I grabbed an aquarium, and he popped right through the bars instantly! He and his brother are in an aquarium now..... with a weight on the lid! I would have never thought their heads would fit through, but they definitely can!

Re: Free Mouse Cage!
you'd be surprised what a mouse can fit through...seriously... I've heard MANY stories of mice escaping from this type of cage (with the same bar spacing). Just b/c your little finger won't fit through doesn't mean a mouse can't Also, even if you don't notice a mouse missing...doesn't mean they can't get out!....I've known people who've had mice that were able to get out, but would go back in...and it literally took them months to even realize they'd been getting out!
