Spiny Mice- Male Empty Spiny Mice- Male

On a whim, I decided to pick up two spiny mice at RF. As it turns out, I am absolutely in love with them and have several friends asking if I'm going to breed them as they are interested in spiny mice babies.

Does anybody know where I could get more spiny mice, particularly a male or two?

Were they from Brittney? (EPR) ...if so, did she have you sign a contract? The spinies she had came from a TERRIBLE situation, and I personally wouldn't breed them. They had really aweful lives up until Brit rescued them.

Stina, I believe they were from her and I did not know that! Thank you for telling me. They will definitely be only pets then. I am absolutely smitten by them though! Do you know anything more about the situation they came out of?

Yeah....the original owner's daughter e-mailed a BUNCH of rodent breeders (me included) about finding them homes......apparently the original owner had bought a couple from a pet store and didn't know they were male and female......eventually she ended up with well over a hundred (I think brit sad it ended up being like 130 or something) and then decided it was time to get rid of them all.......and wanted to send them all to the same place...Brit ended up rescueing them. They were being kept overcrowded in aquariums with flat newspaper for bedding....most of them had holes torn in their sides and degloved tails and the like and had to be euthanized. Sad

I took seven of these, adopted out three. I currently have 3 and they are good boys, but I wouldn't breed the poor things. They just play and sleep!

I had no idea. How sad Sad I feel bad for only taking two now. I would have taken more if I knew how great they are. Bless you all for helping out with them!
