I hate to be the one to do this, but did you get these two mice from a pet store? It isn't exactly the best idea to breed mice from a pet store- you don't know their lines, don't know if you will end up with mice who will later develop tumors.

Just seeing them mate (and even seeing a plug in the doe) is no guarantee that she will be pregnant. The only real way to tell is keep the doe with the buck for sixteen days, then separate them. Count twenty-four days from that date- if she doesn't have babies, the breeding did not work.

There is a lot more that goes into this than letting mom raise all the babies but it can be a whole lot of fun to experience the entire process. I hope things go well for you! Please take into consideration what your reasons are for breeding. Why not find a local breeder who can help you out with quality mice to breed?

Breeding mice from a pet store is perfectly alright, so long as you are a responsible person who understands about selective breeding. That being said, getting from established lines means you won't have to deal with a lot of hereditary problems like tumors, cancers, and poor immune systems as doganddisc pointed out.

www.hoobly.com is a great place to look for mice, btw.
