Black and Blue Tan (blue tan buck and doe available!)
TinyHart's Pumpkin's daughter Cumin had her litter on the 23rd, and the babies are all colored up!
I deliberately kept a pair of bucks, because another local breeder wanted to get started in tans. He's coming at mouse breeding from rat breeding, and just fell in love when he came by to pick up a pair of pews. I ended up with one black tan buck and one blue tan buck.
As far as does, I had a bit of a surprise. I had forgotten completely when I'd been told that Pumpkin carried satin! Two of the four blue tan does are satin. There's also a standard blue tan, a pied black tan, and another black tan doe. I had initially only seen the one black, but the other two colored up properly after a few days.
Here's Cumin, looking none-too-pleased to not be disturbed off her nest. "Where are my babies? And why am I in a mirrored bowl?!"
The black tan buck. He has a bit of a throat spot, but if that's his worst fault, I'm unconcerned about passing him on to Art.
The pied black tan doe I'll probably send with the buck.
The standard black tan doe I'll probably keep. I'm pleased with how well-colored her feet are, compared to her mum. She has her gramma's feet.
The satin pied blue tan doe I'll probably also send on with the buck. All four of her feet have stops on the foot, past which they're pied white!
This satin blue tan doe I'll likely keep. I guess I'm just a sucker for well-colored feet. And satin.
The standard blue tan doe, who's available! She'll be weaned 5/21, able to got to new home 6/4. She's also got good toe color, and I'm pleased with how even the blue is on this one. I look forward to finding out if it'll stay so even as she gets her adult coat.
And the standard blue tan buck, who's also available! His top coat is just as good as hers, though his toes aren't quite as well-colored. With him, I'm most pleased with his structure. It seems like a vague concept sometimes, not as immediate as color or markings, but his wide head, strong tailset, and the shape of his hips is all quite nice. If I needed a blue tan buck, I'd keep him.
Of course, Cumin's two blue sisters are also pregnant, but when they were paired, I didn't know these were mostly blue! With all good luck, the same statistics that looked askance at me here will pan out and provide. That, or I'll be back here with more blue tans.

The first available blue doe has a great tail set already. Will she be ready to bring to OKC when you come for your silver?

It depends on how long we wait for the trip. It'll be the Monday after the first possible weekend I could make it to OKC (the weekend after Baltimore) that she's weaned. If you're okay with the British meeces staying here for a week or two, I could make the trip to OKC with them and her, and leave with the silver.
