Need help with breeding my 2 Rex bucks

Hi everyone. I got 2 great Rex bucks at the show. Unfortunately I do not have does. What can I breed to the boys to eventually get Rex. Can I breed them with atype to get 50/50?? Or breed to a certain then breed back a female to him??? What would be the best way?? Robin

Robin dear, you are in luck. Rex is dominant, so you would get a few breeding to any coated mouse.

Yep, like Emma said rex is dominant...the first breeding you can tell which babies are rex by holding them up to the light and looking at their whiskers. If they are curly they are rex babies! I love curly little rexies!

For Texel however which I think is your ultimate goal you need rex and angora both and angora is recessive so in that case you'll need to breed the texel buck to an angora doe to get 50% angora and 50% texels. If you don't breed to an angora you will get some rex and some standards...keep a rex doe from that litter to breed back to dad to start seeing texels again.

Breed your rex bucks to any does and you should get 50% rex babies!
