What do you do with your culls?
I'm just curious about what everyone does with the babies/adults they cull.
I know some snake owners can take pinkies for smaller/baby snakes, but I was having trouble finding any and I'm sure my mom would throw a fit if she found dead mice in the freezer, so I ended up feeding them to my dog (he's going to be on a raw diet soon anyway).
So what, if you don't mind sharing, do you do with your culls?

Lots of things around here have to eat.
But if something is a little past it's prime, like something that died maybe in the morning, and I didn't find it until that night, then I just throw it outside. Raccoons, opossums, cats, etc, something will carry it off, works every time.

I'll have a few culls in a few hours and I think I'm just going to take them into the garden and bury them. Too many dead babies in the freezer would raise suspicion with my sister.

Re: What do you do with your culls?
I take mine to a nearby wildlife rehab center. They use them for birds of pretty, snakes, and other carnivores they take in. The nice thing is that they put them to sleep themselves so I just go through all my adult mice and weaned babiesat every couple months and take them whatever I haven't found homes for and don't want for myself. It's win-win.
I also work at a pet store so if I have any extra-cute babies I'll bring them there as a last-ditch effort to find them pet homes before they go to the rehab center. I work there full-time and can keep tabs on them and my boss has set aside a cage just for my meecers. They're sold at a higher price then feeders and the cashiers all know not to sell them to feeder homes.
I wouldn't recommend taking any mice to a pet store unless you personally work there or know the people who do though because most won't give a hoot and will just sell them as feeders if it will make them a quick buck.

Most go to my dog. If I have a decent sized batch of pinkies/fuzzies I take them out to the chickens/ducks.
If I have one that has died naturally in their cage and is spoiled I flush it down the toilet.

That's interesting about the pet store option. I was chatting with the girl who sold me Tully and she was sharing stories about how sad she gets when she knows they're going as feeders (rats, hamsters, mice, whatever). But she said her hands are tied and can't refuse anyone. Are not all pet stores like that? This one's a chain so maybe that's why.
The rehab idea is a great one. I emailed the one in my city, they confirmed receipt and said they forwarded it to the right person, and I never heard back.

The pet store I work at is a chain, but I've been working here for a while and am a supervisor(and dog groomer now too) and considered a "senior employee", which comes with its perks. I'm friends with the manager, assistant manager, and most of the other employees as well. I hang out with them outside of work sometimes and have even adopted critters to some of them.
We refuse sales on a regular basis. I've personally refused sales to people who seemed irresponsible. We're specifically told to refuse sales to people when they're under 18 or are idiots, like when people come in and buy a brand new fish tank and try and buy a bunch of fish to go into it the same day...*face smack* (for those that don't know, that would result in all of the fish dying)

Wow, I really, really wish my city had a pet store like that! PJ's is all about the money. Although they do have age restrictions, the girl was saying buyers don't often bother making it a secret when the animal is going as a feeder but there's zip she can do. She said one guy comes in every week to buy a hamster for his snake and he just rubs it in her face. : / I'd love to work in a pet store that actually could refuse people (as awkward as I'm sure that would be).

That's horrible! Those poor hamsters!
We've refused multiple people wanting guinea pigs and bunnies as feeders. Only mice and rats are sold as feeders here and they're kept in the back. The manager only orders albinos too so it helps a little bit. Less cute factor equals less guilt for us when we have to box em up. :/

I have a lady who takes the pinkies, and I bury the euthanized adults.

I couldn't do it, haha. I'd probably grab the box and run. ;D The thing is I love PEW's. I know they're not fancy but the three I've had were all so amazing with their personalities. <3

Re: What do you do with your culls?
I havent had to a cull a litter yet (though I will pretty soon here), but my plan was leaving them in the field behind my house. I live in a more rural area, so we have lots of coyotes, hawks, etc. that will appreciate it. Morally, it makes me feel better, as they didnt die for no reason.

Re: What do you do with your culls?
My snakes get my culls. I also know some snake owners and we trade off culls.
Re: What do you do with your culls?
In the past I've donated my culls to friends reptiles. Will continue to do so once I get my breeding program back on track.
Re: What do you do with your culls?
I sell feeders, so culls go with my feeders. Most pinkies stay home, as they're just the right size for our snapper. Anything larger goes to an interesting variety of snakes, depending on which of my snake people needs mice that day. Hognose, redtail boas, ball pythons. They're all very pretty, and I like getting to meet new snakes when a snake owner calls me. Everybody gets vetted out.

I did have a wildlife rehabber that lived down the street also, who I would on occasion take bags of extras to.

I picked up a nearly dead vulture (honestly, I was picking it up because it was dead, and it scared the crap out of me!) and took it to her once, who was more than happy to eat some of the less-than-fresh things that I'd have.
