Take a Guess!
I've been waiting for this girl to drop for the last two days, and each time I check on her she's bigger! So while I wait, let's take a guess how many she'll drop. And no, you don't get to know how big her last litter was, that's cheating!
"Grumble grumble, taking pictures of my condition, grumble. Get out."

Re: Take a Guess!
thewesterngate, any time you want to weigh your pregnant doe every day since you put it in with the buck, Mrs. Beach's Litter Theorem (still in development) would be happy to give you a close estimate of how many babies to expect! Here's how to participate:
http://mrsbeachsbrindleempire.tripod.com/litter-theorem.html
You can email me the weights every day and get a day-by-day estimate. It usually evens out after the first 15 days.

It's mostly for fun in this thread, but I'd be happy to provide you with some information if you like on my next pairing! I have a 7001 gram scale for my reptiles, so it only goes up in 1 gram increments though.

She's in the process of giving birth, so we shall see! I accidentally caught her in the act, and by the looks of it, it might already be over 10!
Re: Take a Guess!
Thewesterngate, I would be happy to receive data from you on your does. I had one other person whose scale worked only in increments of one gram. Right now I just need more data!
And congratulations! My uneducated guess for that doe is 18.

The final count was 14! I put a lactating nanny in with her and I'll take a few out, it should lighten the load!

Fame and glory!
LOL. I don't think I'd do so well with fame. Let's just go with glory.

You guys are silly. Fame and glory to everyone! Your prize will be a nest shot today.
Re: Take a Guess!
As promised, here are the bubs on day 1 (along with some older bubs from the pied dove's litter). I put her few in with them, so now they're both nursing all the babies.
Mom, whose name is actually Charmeuse, is still looking lovely after all that!

Yay, for a lovely mum, a healthy combined litter, and BRIGHT YELLOW bedding! Personally, I couldn't stick with CareFresh, but it sure is pretty!

Hahaha, I use aspen any chance I get..but when I bought my group from a FMB member six bags of Carefresh came with! I've used the last of it, so we're going back to aspen and/or pellets. I'm so lucky to have good nanny mice, too.
