Pillbugs as snacks?
Just came across a reference to mice in the wild eating pillbugs. Is it a safe snack for tame mice?
I have a million of them in the yard. Thanks!

I would never feed wild insects to my mice. You never know what pesticides or other poison's the bugs crawled through. Maybe not in your yard...but in your neighbors.

This is interesting. I raise pill bugs at times in my own terrariums, sometimes for turtle consumption and others just as vegetation clean-up. Obviously they'll never be exposed to anything harmful.

Farmed or home-raised, I can't imagine they'd be hurtful, though they're reported to taste awful. They are not poisonous or toxic on their own.

Mealworms are very easy to raise at home, and mice love 'em! This is the site that got me started:

There are also numerous videos on YouTube. They don't take up much space at all, and hardly any care. They are the insect equivalent of weeds.

Awesome responses!! Thanks everybody.
I have an irrational ick factor with the meal
worms that I discovered years ago feeding
sugar gliders. I suppose tongs could be used...
