Mazuri Rodent Breeder
Does anyone feed Mazuri Rodent Breeder? I am looking into feeding this and would like some personal feedback. Thanks!
Re: Mazuri Rodent Breeder
I do. My mice stay in great condition and are admirable mothers. I couldn't recommend Mazuri more.

Excellent Emma, thank you! The Mazuri website is having a free shipping on orders under $100 promotion until sometime in August. I'm going to go ahead and buy a couple of bags!
Re: Mazuri Rodent Breeder
I was considering the exact same block! I know people complain about blocks not being nutritionally sound, but I think they're great and was thinking about buying a bag.
Re: Mazuri Rodent Breeder
I've not heard anything about blocks lacking nutrition! I've always had great luck with them and I trust the formulas.

Re: Mazuri Rodent Breeder
Well, I placed an order today. I'll be sure to post a review on what I think after having used it for some time. I'll be using it for my adult rats in addition to the mice.
Re: Mazuri Rodent Breeder
I used to use mazuri and my critters did well on them. I now use native earth.
Re: Mazuri Rodent Breeder
I have been using Mazuri Rodent Breeder blocks for a month now. My mice love it, it smells pretty good too to me lol. Im only a month in so I can't quote comment in health (they have been as good as they were prior to it). But they all like them a lot, so im pleased.
Considering the mouse breeder block this second time I order though...wonder what the difference is?

Only 16% protein...I will stick with Native Earth.

Re: Mazuri Rodent Breeder
Didn't Mazuri just have a big recall? You may want to look into that and make sure your blocks aren't on the list of recalled foods. :/
Re: Mazuri Rodent Breeder
Candy corn there are several different formulas. I have access to 16% as well as 26% protein. I wouldn't write off the whole brand just yet...
Also, YES there is a recall, for high Vitamin D levels. Any bag with a production date before May 8th needs to be returned. I was lucky enough that my last bag had a date of May 10th!

How long ago was the recall? And my, I would *hope* they would have notified buyers of this as well. Thanks for that info! Will have to check out my bag
Re: Mazuri Rodent Breeder
Whew im good! 6-22 manufacturing date here.
And who sells that Native Earth though? I can't find that anywhere besides Amazon. But its an arm and leg to ship a 40lb bag

Is this addressed to me? If so, I was looking for peoples experience with feeding this to their mice (and/or rats). I've been using it for close to a month now and so far everyone looks great. I do think that they eat less of the Native Earth but because that isn't available to me at a reasonable cost, Mazuri it is. I'd recommend it to anyone who can get it locally who is looking for a cost effective way to feed their mice a quality food.
