I use cucumbers or carrots. And yes, they can get squishy poo if they go to town on too much of them. I have way less instance of that when I use cucumbers though. Happy

Interresting!, I have never used cucumbers before. Lol

I was not sure if they were safe.

I peel it, so they don't have green poop. If you use carrots, they may get orange poop. lol

I like celery because I can push it through the bars, and it stays there, so that it doesn't get covered in bedding or pooped or peed on.

Does the celery cause diarrhea at all? I used carrots in the past and it looked bad during health check when they had orange runny scared poos.

Celery doesn't seem to cause diarrhea. I used it for almost a solid week here when I couldn't find my ASF water bottles. Gave each colony about 1 1/2 stalks per day, and it worked great. And celery is CHEAP too!

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but why would you not use a water bottle? Stuff like security at the airport? Can't you just dump the water before security then fill it back up again in a bathroom once they clear you?

Each bump or jostle generally releases a drop or two from most waterbottles. Generally, it makes a huge mess to use them while traveling. tongue

If their litter gets wet and stays wet for a long time they can catch cold and mice can die of colds!

Ahh right, of course... Duh, didn't think of that. They make enough of a mess just trying to position them nicely on the cage. Have never traveled with my mice, other than when we brought them home.
