It might take me a while to get through all my animals as I tend to get bored quite quickly of posting links. The guineas will start off this potentially very long thread Happy

My two oldest guineas are only 6 months old, born June 13th. I purchased them back in July from a breeder I later found out to be.. well I have yet to hear any kind things said about him/her. They were very small when I first got them but have since grown into chubby wee girls who love to talk.

These two photos are the ones I saw prior to purchase : (Athea then Abby)

When I first got them home, I did a weight check and though I can't remember their exact weights, I do remember that they hardly even reached 250g at 6 weeks (I weighed another who was also 6 weeks who was 500g+)

After about 3 months, they were still smaller than they should have been but they definitely grew! Thankfully by this time, Abby's extra toes had been removed (if not, you run the risk of them being torn off and causing a heap of damage).

And here are my most recent pictures. All chubbly and round. Super had little ladies Happy

The next girl I got is Boxa. I can't believe I don't have more pictures of her.. I was going on a bit of a holiday to see some family about 5-6 hours away and on my way back I was going to collect a few animals for some breeder friends. One of which said she would pay me with a guinea pig, (I was looking for another female to complete my trio). She was rescued from a horrible situation and was kept at my friends for 3 months on pregnancy watch. I couldn't choose between two of the girls she had available so I told her to stick one in a box and I would open the box once I got home, Box-of-guinea, hence the name Boxa. One I got her home, sadly, I found she had a bad case of mites and was always a little skinny.. *sigh* she has since fattened up and if mite free thankfully Happy

Ok, now the boys Happy
The first boys I got was Cooper and Israel - brothers born on the 21st of July. The breeder I got them from has actually become a good friend even if she is over 1000km away. It cost a little bit for transport but they were well worth it! The breeder had advertised them on facebook on a Northern Rabbit and Cavy Club page and as soon as I saw them, I had to have them, (what caught my eye most was that they reminded me of little highlands, fluffy and red/brindle).
Here are a few pictures of them before I got them - pictured with their Mum and brother :

A few days in transport, they finally arrived! Israel is first, then Cooper

After a month here, they had gained a few hundred grams and were regaining their long coat (they had been chewed by another guinea they cage-shared with during transport).

Now last of all is my baby boy Tobi. I brought him to complete my male trio (I like to have trios in case one passes away or is sick and needs to go into quarantine). Sadly, this didn't work out as planned so Tobi now lives alone inside getting LOADS of attention every day - he is such a cuddler. I sit him on my bed somewhere away from me while i lay down and he runs onto my lap, up my front to snuggle under my chin Happy
I found him at an A&P show where I was showing some of my cattle, a friend of mine helps other breeders sell their animals as well as selling her own. It was one of those "love at first site" situations. Oh! He was born on the 2nd of October.
Here he is with his brothers before I got him :

And heres a bunch of pictures from the month that I have had him Happy

A guinea pig was one of the very first animals I ever had. I love the variety of noises they can come out with. What type of coat does Tobi have? I'm not super familiar with guinea pigs, I've only seen the short hair, longhair & abyssinian ones. I've never seen that type of coat before. They are all adorable!

May as well list all their coat types Happy
Abby and Athea - Peruvian smooth coat x
Boxa - unsure but she definitely has abyssinian in her
Cooper and Israel - Peruvian coronet x (the mums a Peruvian x with merino and shelter background)
And of course Tobi. His parents actually have nothing to do with his coat.. His mum is a coronet x and dad is a crested smooth coat x. Tobi is.. Debatable but here in New Zealand we would call him a (poor) merino coronet.

Kitty-cats!
Our oldest cat is Isabel. She's about 11 years old now. We adopted her from the SPCA who referred to her as "Bad-Hair-Day". I kid you not, that was her name. The story goes that she was found at a school, one of the teachers had found her after the kids decided to play "hairdressers" and give her a haircut..
I actually have very few pictures of her, and I mean very few. As soon as the camera comes out, she bolts.. Or maybe its just me that she doesn't like..

The other two cats we have a my boys. They were adopted together from the SPCA back in 2006. Proof that my Mum and I should never go to the SPCA. Every time we just go to have a look, we come home with some animal. They act more like dogs though. Rain, hail or shine, they will follow me anywhere. If I go for a walk, they come along. Every morning and night I go to feed my calf, they are there. Also, they are not brothers, they were in the same cage in the adoption area as they were desexed the same day Happy
So here is Luca :

And of course.. Whenever I plan on going away for a while, I open my suitcase to this..

And Dylan :

While he is a very calm and sweet cat, don't come between him and his fluff..
Anything and Everything Cordane IMG_0327_zpsa67b7b24

And since I haven't posted about my animals in a few days (my goal was 1 species a day), here are my bunnies as well!

This is Honey, a flemish giant nz white mix adopted from the SPCA. They told me that she was born in October of 2010 when I adopted her in December which sounded about right - she was far from being fully grown when I got her. These days she is about 5kg and she definitely has her preference in people - She prefers my Dad..
All the pictures I have of her when she was younger are very small and their quality is poor so I have not included them.. So just two of her having some fun in the garden/lawn.
Anything and Everything Cordane IMG_0213_zpse72c16b5
And this is what happens when we don't mow the lawn..
Anything and Everything Cordane DSC06742_zps20d4c819

And of course little Miss Maya. A purebred Netherlands dwarf who is a little bit big in every sense to be a nethie. Before I adopted Honey, I had always had minilops so I missed the "sqidgyness" of the non-meat breeds so I found a breeder within an hours drive from me who specialises in Nethies and Minilops. I was smitten..
So.. Meet Maya!

Also, I think that Tobi's fur is what my sister call "texel". It is a completely recessive trait in piggies, so the parents only needed to be carriers. My sister has a perfect dutch texel pig named Franklin and he is really spoiled and sweet too. They are adorable, how can they not be sweeties?

I believe someone from.. Scotland? mentioned that he looks like a Swiss. Oh I would love to see Franklin if you have pictures - sounds insanely adorable!
