Goodbye Furschtunka Empty Goodbye Furschtunka

Furschtunka (Schtunkie) died late Sunday night or early Monday morning. He was two years old. I think he was bred by Elena. Christina gave him to me in June of 2012; his name was Stewart then. He was a wonderful mouse, a black and tan texel buck. He was my only mouse, very tame and curious, loved Cheerios and getting his cheeks rubbed and getting scratched behind the ears. Since January, he had developed a cascade of health problems, which our vet was able to treat; mites, yeast, and ear infection. Then he developed a head tilt and the end of his tail became necrotic. He continued to eat and drink up until the end. He just slept a lot and stopped using his wheel. I can't believe how much I miss the tiny creature I can barely read this post through my tears.
