Funky Tri? Empty Funky Tri?

Post by GypsyTails Tue Mar 20, 2012 12:31 pm

Here's one of my does from my Piebald Ivory line I've been working with to use for Tricolor. Or is she Piebald Ivory? She has at least 2 darker patches which I tried to capture by camera. They are not the best since she would not hold still! The patches I am referring to are above her eye and also on the side you can see. What do you think? Tricolor?

BTW, this is The Virgin Mary, for those of you who followed my escaped mouse thread.

She looks piebald beige to me. That's kind of dark for ivory. Or is it possible that it's c^/c b/b?

She's very dark for piebald ivory, also very warm for ivory.

My ivorys are either white, or extremely light gray-tan. I think she looks pied beige also.

But can you make out the two shades of beige/ivory?

I see what you are asking. Color always seems more intense on their faces. In the third pic her face spot hue apparently matches her body spot hue. Unless you are seeing something in person we are not able to see in the pix?

Hmmmm, yeah in the first and third pic the spot on her face right above her eye is darker than the rest of her spots. At least to me anyway. :/

Could she be colour point beige pied? That would explain the slight fading.

No chance of c^h in her pedigree. It's pretty much c and c^e, though p/p makes things a little more complicated to identify PEW's versus PE Ivory. Her dam was what I thought was PEW and her sire was a pied Ivory. One of her sisters was a Tri, which is why I was puzzled with her. :/

If you go back far enough, there WAS c^ch in her pedigree. I may also have mock PEW's who are c^ch/c just like the mock PEW's who are c^e/c. I hate mock PEW.
