BATH TIME :D Empty BATH TIME :D

Post by IshkaMouse Sun Apr 22, 2012 1:42 am

I needed to run a tiny little bath to clean up my girls who had had a little spill with the with run around wheels. And Victoria LOVED it! It was so unusual! I had a little stool for them to stand on, but Victoria only needed to have 2 front paws on my finger while they were cleaned! After the shampoo was in, she had a little swim! I might have to make some little surf boards for them, Still working on Libby, but I'm not going to force her. Victoria also has a massive love for scrambled eggs, so i have been training lately, and she has been responding very well! But libby, on the other hand... Ugh, she is such a little handful and and trouble maker, haha

Ishka, for future reference, cleaning a mouse should be done with a wet paper towel, a baby wipe, or a wet q-tip, and only when it really needs to be done. Happy

Mice get chilled very easily, so soaking them in water is a bad idea. It's okay, especially since you made sure to keep them warm, but in the future, I think it would be best if you don't put them into water again.
I hope this info helps.!

I've seen video's on youtube of people putting mice in the tub to swim. I was AMAZED! I wouldn't even have thought of doing this!

As stated, please don't put your mice in water. tongue
It's not very good for them.

Rats are fine in water however, so if you have any rats, you can have bath time fun. Happy

As the guinea pig folks at the GP forum I hang out on like to state, "Just because an animal can swim, doesn't mean it should."

Swimming is often a last resort for some animals and should be treated as such. Guinea pigs have to bend their back in very unnatural ways to keep themselves afloat.

Regarding bathing- I've never even had to consider bathing my mice. It amazes me how clean they are! But if it happens, I'm sure I'll be able to dab them down with a damp towel no problem Happy
