The BEW looks like it has a faint RY pied pattern from the photo, but I may be imagining it.
Here are photos from my RY litter. Maybe you can answer some questions with that?

You're not imagining it at all. (I'm such a whiner, I was sad about not seeing mum's colour which would be obvious with culling boys who were pink eyed, but I wanted that BEW or bone!)
The camera really picks up more agouti than I see. I didn't know RY could have black eyes. I thought I saw someone post a litter of those but apparently I accidentally pulled that off.
Thank you for the photos!

They could be blue agouti but I might be really mistaken when I say that I thought you had to have bred a mouse expressing agouti to get agouti, since agouti is dominant. I might be way wrong here though. I'm only just learning genetics.
Too bad you're not closer. I have a satin BEW buck (angora or longhair, not sure which) I wouldn't mind finding a home for.

I'm flailing a little with genetics myself. I have seen agouti pop up in a rat litter but Dad was agouti so...*headdesk* Blue agouti makes a ton of sense to me for the top girl. She was sooo blue and much paler than her sister. And now not so much. I'm leaning towards dark blue for the bottom girl as I don't see any gold/brown on her despite the satin tendency to change everything. But as I've learned, time will tell. It wouldn't shock me if one was purple tomorrow. :p
Dang, CT isn't even that far of a drive. One solid day of driving and I'd be there. I just need the licence and car!

Haha purple! I'm waiting for one to be bright green. I'll post about it here and I'm sure somebody would have an explanation
How close to Buffalo, NY are you?

Well there are those genetically engineered green glow in the dark mice. The one lecture I actually paid attention to in cell biology.
I've only driven to NYC and I think we left early in the morning (but after sunrise) and arrived late at night. I'm in Toronto. So not far at all really, I just need to sucker someone into making that drive and not getting myself caught at the border with a mouse or two! It'll take some time. I love knowing of another so close though.

Lol- so cute!
Oh- recessive yellow has black eyes and fawn has pink. Red can have both.

Really?! Okay now I'm really confused. Mum was labeled as either recessive yellow or unmarked brindle but she has pink eyes. So her daughter is RY and she's...a really dilute fawn?

I don't mean to question you, kawmice, but I thought recessive yellow can have either color eyes.
Fun Mouse: "Recessive Yellow mice can have any color eyes. Pink eyed recessive yellow mice tend to be more flame red while dark eyed recessive yellow mice tend to be more blond or "sable" in appearance."

Re: Tully's a mum! [photo update 6/10]
Recessive yellow is the name for the gene, which can have pink or black eyes. Fawn is the name of the show variety, which is shown a pink eyed red.
So you're both right!

RY missy has an orange bum. Just noticed that. Also the little miss who started as pale blue is now a golden brown. It's really just the dark girl who's staying consistent.

The darkest girl had her eyes open. The high white had one eye open...and I've yet to check in today. Here's a snuggle fest.

Re: Tully's a mum! [photo update 6/10]
Oh I'm the least qualified to make proper guesses. The broken (piebald? is that the same thing?) RY is like her mother but with a standard satin coat (I assume) and black eyes as opposed to pink. The fluffer nutter I think is blue. She looks dark in that sunlight but I'm going with blue. And thanks to your helpful photos I think the exotic looking one is a sooty RY. I have no idea why she looked so pale blue in the beginning.
The question is...where to go from here? Each girl has something to offer but I'm not sure I've explored all the genes I have available. I do love variety.

To answer your broken/piebald question: piebald is any mouse with s/s, meaning basic white spotting. Broken is a show variety of piebald with alternating spots, as opposed to the show variety even, which has symmetrical spots (plus a few necessary spots, like ear, muzzle, and eye spots).

Ah thank you for that! I suppose both mother and daughter are piebald then? There isn't spotting perse, more like areas of yellow...if that makes sense. Except for momma's splotch over her eye.
