repartnering ASF geishas Empty repartnering ASF geishas

Post by Mrs. Beach Tue Aug 28, 2012 5:35 pm

I often use female ASF's as companions for my male mice. I call them "geishas". I have observed many times that if the male mouse dies, the geisha will never seem to get along with another male mouse. This makes it difficult to repartner my geishas and reduces their usefulness to me, since I don't keep them for their own sakes and don't want any more cages, esp. with just ASF's in them.

Does anybody have any advice on how to repartner a female ASF with a new male mouse? I have never been able to do introductions with an ASF because they jump! My ASF geishas do not bite unless scared, but they are not really hand tame.
