Mouse life span - Is 3 years a long time?
I keep hearing that a pet mouse is supposed to have a lifespan of one year to a year and a half. I had two sisters from a litter that reached two and the other two and a half. I currently have a mouse, from a different litter that has just passed 3 years old. I find it odd that this mouse has outlived a pair of Rats...not to mention many other mice from her tank.

Yes, that is highly unusual. And that mouse looks like Methuselah. I would believe every bit of that mouse being three years old. Poor kid. Does she still get around much?

Yes. She is slow and shaky when she walks and can still hit very hard when one of the other mice tries to take anything she is eating. She moves where she wants to go and then just sits down as you see in the picture.

yep. It's rare but possible. My dear little blue bell, my first blue died this year at three. The oldies have a way of worming themselves right into your hart too. I hope yours hangs out for a while yet.
