Would you call this a fuzzy or fuzzy hairless, and why?

I would call it a fuzzy hairless because you can see the skin thru the hair, a fuzzy has a denser, little bit longer and curlier coat. Please correct me if I'm wrong, this is my understanding of it.

I would call it fuzzy hairless.

The difference between fuzzy and fuzzy hairless is only a phenotype difference. Some animals can be fz/fz and look like a brilo pad, and some can look like a piece of suede.

I mix re with my fuzzies to create FH. Even a (Fz/fz Re/re) mouse shows some interactions of the coat types. It helps the hair to grow shorter and tighter.

I go by whether or not they are Rex/Caracul/Frizzy as well. If they are, then they are Fuzzy Hairless to me, regardless of their phenotype. They may be poor Fuzzy Hairless, but they are still Fuzzy Hairless. If they are NOT Rex, et cetera, then they are Fuzzy to me, also regardless of phenotype. I find that Fuzzy (fz/fz) alone has a wide variety of phenotypes, from Afro-mouse to shag carpet to nearly hairless, whereas FH typically really doesn't. I need to get pics of my Fuzzy vs Fuzzy Hairless, don't I? I've only been anal about them for like 2 years. Lol.

Interesting. Thanks.

She's not rex, but as you can see has very little coat at all. Her littermate is what I'd consider a decent fuzzy, short dense coat with good coverage but this girl is mostly naked with just that fine peach fuzz in places.

I have some Fuzzies like that too, especially when they are Satin as well. Just little whisps of fine, shiny hair! I sometimes have to double check my book and make sure someone didn't get switch-a-rooed. lol Happy

Interesting I didn't know all that! I'll have to make a note like I did with my "pied splashes" Laughing It's nice to learn without worrying about being insulted!

Here is a good picture depicting the differences between fuzzy and fuzzy hairless. The fuzzy in the middle was fz/fz and the fuzzy hairless on each end is fz/fz - Re/* or fuzzy and rex.

What i find interesting is how fz/fz Re/- doesn't always = FH.

I would also call it a fuzzy hairless due to the lack of hair and just a small amount of fuzz. I like Beth's example picture. Happy
