curious about doe's behavior
I have a question about some behavior I've seen in a few of my mice.
I usually feed my mice from my hand to get them comfortable with me. Amazing how fast they learn
who's the meal train.
I have one doe that will come up and smell my hand and then try to bury it by taking her front
feet and pushing the bedding up over my hand.
I am curious as to why she does this. Is she trying to bury the food, (I've noticed that they frequently bury their food dish) or is she afraid of my hand and wants to cover the smell?
Anybody have any ideas why mice do this???
Thanks

She'd probably like to cover the smell. Try taking some of her bedding and rubbing it on your hands like lotion before putting it in her cage. I'd bet that would help.

Thanks for your reply. I think she's getting a little better, but I doubt she'll ever warm up completely. Well, actually that's not true either. She's an entirely different animal when she knows I have a corn chip in my hand.
Ha Ha. That's her favorite!!!
