Gerbil Baby Fun! 2dc3fffe

Eeek! We got mottled! My partner very causually breeds gerbils, and got a pew and black spot pair from a breeder outside of Pittsburg. The breeder does breed for mottled and dark patch...and man...we got a mottled! They are my absolute favorite of the gerbils! I am super excited. I don't know the gender yet as they were born in her classroom (She teaches High School Animal Behavior and Biology) but no matter what it's staying with me.
Aren't they adorable?

Isn't there something bad about black eyed whites in a litter with mottled?

Maybe I'm mixing something up, I don't know too much about gerbil genetics, but I -think- the high whites have some higher chance of getting megacolon.

The shadow looks heavy in this photo, but both whites are probably PEWs.

Looks like we have two dove spots too! So this means that it's very likely that Mom who is a PEW is actually also a spot. It also explains the small litter.
How exciting!
