Snack time!
Just having some fun with the meecers...
"MINE!"
I took some slices of sesame bread, cut out the middle section, and stuck in some sauce cups filled with peach yogurt. Yummy! I don't know why, but all of my critters LOVE peach yogurt.

Re: Snack time!
That's brilliant. I laugh when I imagine what would happen if I did that for the rats. It would be in pieces in seconds, or someone would have picked up the entire thing and carted it away to keep for themselves.

Been there, done that, tee hee. Sometimes I get those hanging bird treat sticks and I used to toss them into my rats' cage, but had to start hanging them up instead because I'd end up with all the rats taking turns stealing the stick and running off with it, lol! It would take them hours to actually eat it because they spent 90% of the time running around and stealing it from each other. Rats are such riots.

Yogurt, particularly unsweetened live yogurt, is really excellent for any animal living in captivity, particularly mice. Feeding mice yogurt (the study used vanilla, sadly) improves their coat and their fertility, possibly due to gut health benefits. It should increase their GI health, not cause "stoppages", as it has a lot of lovely bacteria they wouldn't normally have access to in their foods. Even if you don't want to do it all the time, a round of yogurt after rounds of antibiotics should speed recovery and help to prevent other illnesses in the mouse.
ETA: Or by "stops" do you mean the end pieces of bread from a loaf? Those are butts here, but I suppose regionalities exist. I had assumed you meant that the yogurt might give them "the stops" meaning constipation as an opposite of "the runs" meaning diarrhea.
