I'm sorry, I'm such a newb. But this is baffling to me! Can anyone offer insight? You guys are wonderful
So I bred this buck:
To this doe:
The litter was quite large- 9 babies. I should have kept them all until I saw color but there were five boys and four girls. Two of the boys were PE, the rest of the babies were BE. I assumed, given the color of the buck and the doe, the PE were dove and the BE were blue or black.
I was really wrong and have no idea what I ended up with. I'm kicking myself for culling the other babies so early. I culled down to the four girls (two black, two bluish), then culled one of the black girls a few days ago.
Now I have these babies:
Black with tan ears and a black belly.
Mystery color that is not blue 1:
Mystery color that is not blue 2:

Dad looks merle to me, as do the babies.
Mom could be agouti, or agouti based, and the two "blue" babies are blue agouti because both mom and dad carry blue.

That doe looks like a piebald mock chocolate, aka cch/c so the brownish pups are burmese and burmese splashed[cch/ch]
The pink eyed pups were probably himilayan.
The yellow in the ears on a black are normal.

Thank you guys!! This is really cool. Genetics is so humbling.
Will the ears stay tan? I kind of like it
