Lara is pregnant!

No kidding! She's Supergirl's daughter (and Hipsebah's sister) and has the classical Asplodamouse pregnant shape!!!







She's a splashed brindle carrying c^e and s and was bred to Mr. Saturday Dance (same as Hipsebah), beige brindle tri. Today is her 21sy day of pregnancy, probably. She weighs 111.2g!

Yes, I am sure she's pregnant! Her numbers are again mysterious, like her sister, Hipsebah's. As of now it looks like ten bubs, which is good for me. The more bubs, the greater chance I have of getting the genetic combination I need.

Lara has been holding at 113g since 9:30 this morning. Babies guaranteed within the next twelve hours!

Lara had 13 babies between midnight at 10:45 a.m. today. What do I know! Her numbers and placement in my data range made it virtually impossible to predict her D/R. I was very close with the average baby weight, though.

Oh lucky #13. Are the bubs as hefty as the last litter??? Congrats!!!! Can't wait for photos.

Babies about 1.8g. Way smaller than Hipsebah's. More like Supergirl's babies (Supe was Hip's and Lara's mother). Some discrepancy in numbers reveals that Lara had been carrying 14 bubs, so one either was stillborn or Lara culled it.

Well, so far they look...little and pink. Pinkies are so generic, I usually wait until pigment or colors are showing before I take pix. This litter is beige and brindle, so colors won't really be in until Day 7 or later. Also, I'm going to PA again soon to help my elderly father, so pix will be up after Tuesday, I'm afraid.

Dad is all moved in to his assisted living room, temporarily for two weeks until his total hip replacement surgery March 29th, shortly before which I shall disappear again.

Here are Lara's babies! Day 10:









THESE are the babies I was looking for! I'm saving the high white pied brindle doe in case she develops a beige spot as she grows up. Then she would be my first beige brindle tri! If not, she's a really good choice to cross one of the apparently splashed standard brindles to. One is male and one is female, so I have lots of flexibility. It's hard to tell what the satin buck (the darkest-looking one) really is. There is definitely some orange in there, but is he pied? If so, he'd be a beige brindle tri, also. Just need to get higher white in the next generation so the colors will pool and I'm there. (If the high white pied brindle doe turns out too small, I can always use one of Hipsebah's babies, though I'm also hoping the next generation will be mostly A^vy/A^vy and I still can't tell which of Hip's bubs is A^vy!) Pretty exciting!

Oh, yeah. Some of these bubs are probably agouti. I haven't had time yet to get out my lens and ruffle their fur backwards to check. I don't want agouti. It will determine my breeding choices.

What is the gender of the one on the right, in the 3rd picture from the top? I really like it!
